About
I'm Garfield Zhu, an ordinary yet laid-back software engineer.
My professional drive stems from the thrill of crafting fresh and engaging code, fueled by daily doses of lattes. Outside of work, I find joy in basking in the afternoon sun and exploring the enchanting realms of video games, as well as animation. Occasionally, I also indulge in the vibrant warmth of passionate moments. Life, to me, is a balance of coding adventures and the simple pleasures of existence.
At the early stage of my career, I was passionate about exploring and comparing different tech stacks such as Java, C++, Python, and JavaScript to determine which was superior.
Later, I found myself diving into the "keyboard battles" between Angular and React, and the endless debates between Golang and Rust, each with its loyal apologists of developers.
After years, I realized that I'm actually skilled at writing code with hammers, drills, saws, and coffee. Now, despite the appearance of being busy building a spaceship, I found my stack is surprisingly NULL.
Nowadays in the LLM age, everyone talks about vibe coding and nobody talks about pair programming anymore—it feels like “古法编程” is turning into a mummy in a museum. It’s a bit dangerous for the career as a programmer, but at the same time it blows open the vision and boosts the efficiency in ways I never imagined. Far beyond my hammers and saws, these agents aren’t only how power drills does, they’re 3D printers: sometimes I just hand over a blueprint, sometimes even a rough template is enough. Crafting software starts to feel less like rigid engineering and more like a kind of art.
"I've traveled from Boletaria to the Lands Between , linked the fire from Lordran to Lothric , and strolled through the alleys of Yharnam to beneath the walls of Ashina Castle. Each time comforting my weariness aside a flickering bonfire in the darkness, my soul strengthens, driving me forward with unwavering determination."
I'm a full-stack gamer and big fan of Mr. Hidetaka Miyazaki as well as all his "Soul" games. Trust me, if you manage to conquer a Souls-like game someday, you will not only be a gamer who cultivates a different appreciation for the games, but also be a connoisseur of life who passionately embraces every moment.
Long may the sun shine! ☀️One more thing, "if you can't find me neither on GitHub or Teams, explore my footsteps in the gaming world."
